Mouthguards
Custom laminated mouthguards provide protection by reducing the risks of cuts and bruising to your mouth and the possibility of your teeth being fractured or lost. They fit more comfortably as they are personally moulded for each individual and making it easier to breathe and speak. Lower Hunter & Hamilton Denture Clinics have over 20 years experience in producing quality mouthguards that you can depend on.

If you plan on playing any contact sports a mouthguard is essential. Having a mouthguard is vital in many sports where contact is likely, such as: football, karate, water polo, basketball, BMX to name a few.
Full and Partial Dentures

Full Dentures
Full or complete dentures are a prosthetic appliance constructed to replace missing teeth in a completely toothless mouth. They are designed to be as natural looking as possible and can also help restore natural facial features. The life span of dentures is approximately 10 years depending on how they are looked after.

Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are a prosthetic appliance constructed to replace from 1- 13 natural teeth for the upper or lower jaw. They fill in the gaps of missing teeth to improve appearance, function for eating and speaking and also help prolong the life of the remaining natural teeth. They are held in place by retainers or clasps and may be made of acrylic or a cast metal framework.

Repairs, Relines & Additions

Repair
Replaces broken or missing teeth on a denture. If a denture is dropped then a straight forward repair is necessary. If the denture breaks in the mouth then a strenghtener may be required in addition to the repair to try and avoid this happening again.

Relines
Replace the old fitting surface to improve retention of the denture and to prolong getting a new denture when the teeth are still in good condition.

Addition
Teeth are added to an existing partial denture after the loss or extraction of natural teeth.

Immediate Dentures
Immediate Dentures
An immediate denture as the name indicates is put in place straight after extraction of the natural teeth (by a dentist). The Prosthetist and Dentist work closely during this process to ensure the best outcome for the patient. This allows the patient to not go without teeth. A reline is required in 4-6 months after having an immediate denture to allow for the shrinkage of the ridge during healing.
